This decades-long photo series started with a picture I took of my brother and myself on a hilltop near North Cohocton, NY in the Finger Lakes area of New York State. I used a tripod and a timer to take a few Kodachrome slides and I always thought this one had a fun “album cover” sort of feel to it. This first in the series (above), was taken in 1982.
The date of the 2nd picture is unclear to me but I’m guessing it was somewhere in the ’94 – ’96 range. This was taken on Block Island, RI during a family vacation in August of whichever year.
The 3rd picture was taken on St. John, USVI and again I cannot pinpoint the date but I think it was 2004 or close to that.
Next, pic # 4 was taken on the island of Great Exuma, Bahamas.
Most recently, # 5 brings us back to Block Island for a family get-together last September, 2014.
Who knows where the next one will be? I don’t! OH – The Working Stiff is on the left in the first and last picture, and on the right in the middle three.
I should note that my brother Charles appears with permission, and I hope that permission extends to my mentioning the famous Southern String Band of Raleigh, NC, of which he is an integral part. The band plays street fairs, balls, soirees, and all kinds of parties all around Raleigh and the surrounding area. (Basically they like any excuse to get together and have fun playing for people!) Check out their website – Southern String Band.
